Installing and Updating
The IT2Be Manager is a lightweight tool to manager your Components configuration. It does not contain any of our plug-ins or beans.
IT2BE Manager should be installed to your Servoy Developer Environment root folder.
For more information about IT2BE Manager you can download the IT2BE Manager Manual from the downloads section.
For more information about IT2BE Components you can check their product pages and ScreenCasts on this website.
Download issues
Sometimes the settings of your browser and/or operating system will cause the IT2BE Manager (.jar) file you downloaded to unpack automatically.
In such case you don't see a .jar or .zip but a directory. When you right-click the download link there should be no issue anymore.
Another issue you might have is that IT2BE Manager has the extension .zip. When you rename .zip into .jar you should be able to execute the installer as a Java application.
Client issues
When you experience any issues running a client, after an update, we advise you to perform our 2,3 or 4 step plan:
License
Use of our plug-ins and beans is always subject to our Terms and Conditions and License agreement that accompany the components. The agreements may also be found here http://www.it2be.com/agreements/it2be-license-agreement.pdf and here http://www.it2be.com/agreements.it2be-terms-and-conditions.pdf.
To use the plug-ins and beans you need a valid license (trial or otherwise). You will always receive 2 license files.
An XML file that can be imported using IT2BE Manager to show you what license you have and a TXT file from which you can copy-paste the contents to the Servoy method of your choice (it is preferred that you register a license on startup of your solution).
Notice
You should never use alpha and beta versions of our components in your production environment.
It is to be adviced that you first archive your old components before you upgrade, downgrade, install or uninstall.
Requirements
Unless otherwise advised you will need:
1. Java SDK 1.5 (or higher) compatible virtual machine installed on your system to use our software and/or plugins.
The latest SDK for Windows, Linux and Solaris is available from Sun here, Java is already installed on Mac OS X 10.2 and higher if you have run all Software updates provided by Apple.
2. Servoy 4.x (or higher) Developer or Server installation. You will need Servoy developer to script the plugin and plugin settings. You can use Servoy server to deploy your solution and plugins you need for that solution to your (Servoy) client. You have to create an account to download the latest version of Servoy Developer, Server and Client from Servoy.
